fit to be tied

J. Crew, I'm onto you...
I am in no way trying to say I made it happen. Ok, maybe just a little. I will admit, I am not the first person to ever think of tying an oxford at the waist. Obviously. But it was the look du jour for Christmas Eve (as seen here.)
And now it's all over J. Crew's March catalog. Coincidence? I think not.
Even the Anthropologie catalog is following suit...
But in all seriousness, I couldn't be happier to see it. I love a Perfect Shirt (that's J. Crew lingo for an oxford. Theirs just so happen to be the best.) And tying it at the waist gives the classic "menswear-inspired" staple a girly twist. Resist the urge to pair it with denim cutoffs (a la Daisy Duke) and keep that midriff covered. Look, I do sit ups. I crunch the heck out of these abs. But you don't have to show all your cards, now do you?
Disclaimer: Tying your shirt at the waist will not make you a better pool player. But I can guarantee you'll look awfully cute losing. And that's what counts.
